Many things affect the final amount of packaged meat received such as the live weight of the animal, number of boneless cuts, and amount of external fat trimmed off. We target a live weight of 1250 lbs. but individual animal weights typically range from 1100-1400 lbs. This would mean typical take home weight ranges would be 100-125 lbs. for a quarter, 200-250 lbs. for a half or 400-500 lbs. for a whole.
Natural Choice Beef offers the customer a guaranteed minimum amount of beef. This means if your take home weight is less than 100 lbs. for a quarter, 200 lbs. for a half or 400 lbs. for a whole, the final payment at pickup time would be reduced based on the amount of beef received.
Natural Choice Beef offers a simplified order pricing approach which is based on the portion of the animal that you select; quarter - $1,000, half - $1,900 or whole - $3,600.
During the dry aging process the halves are left to hang on the rail in the cooler for approximately 14 days. As the beef dry ages, it loses some weight in the form of moisture evaporation. The flavor of the beef becomes concentrated and more tender during this process. The result is more flavorful, tender beef which is why we consider it so important.
For each quarter beef we recommend having 4.5 cu ft of space in chest freezers or 5.5 cu ft in upright freezers.
We have a standard cutting sheet from our USDA inspected meat processor to provide you with steaks, roasts, and hamburger meat. If you purchase a whole or half, you have some options in the way your meat is cut. We cannot offer these options for a quarter.
To ensure that you receive your purchase in the best possible condition, we will schedule with you a time and place for you to receive your order. Free delivery to your doorstep is offered to Wichita Falls and surrounding communities within a 50-mile radius.
We do not offer shipping; we wouldn’t want a package to be lost or delayed where it could arrive in a condition that might impact the safety or quality of your order.
